[ Cale had said that Sylvain could do as he pleased. That had also meant that Sylvain, when the war pulled Cale away to actual battle, didn't need to go. He had arranged it so that Sylvain could stay within the Henituse household and be supported. There had been no reason to insist that Sylvain fight a war that hadn't been his own.

He hears the click, but doesn't think anything of it. Chances are it's Hans or the kids again. Maybe Ron or the golden dragon. Anyone, really. And Cale isn't going to get up for any of them.
